Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is an umbrella term used to describe a range of developmental conditions that include autism, Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders not otherwise specified (PDD NOS).
The autistic spectrum is a pervasive developmental disorder. Rett's disorder and childhood degenerative disorder are also pervasive developmental disorders. The graphic below helps to clarify this explanation.
